  Do you consider fellow posters as strangers?

  do you consider other posters here that you know since months to be strangers?

  some people will say, "i don't really know you, i never saw you in person, so you're a stranger".

  do you have to meet someone in person so that he or she isn't any more considered to be a stranger?.

  friends to me are simply people that I like that I have a relationship with, it dos'nt matter to me where I meet them, so all the posters I hav'nt 'met' on here yet are hopefully ' friends to be ' ...??!

  I'll always be here for anyone whether i've spoken to them or not, and I'm sure most of you would do the same.

  Posters that I have met up with have all been wonderful - and the relationships that have carried on outside the board are just as supportive and caring as the ones with friends I met in other ways.

  Hi Duncan how are you?

  glad youre enjoying your self...yes...I remember them- I grew up listening to them as I shared a room with my sister...! I remember witnesses saying to me often that they wished they could just party- hard- just once- to let go of all the stress... met 2 at a house warming just after I left and got very drunk- bad idea- do you think they were jelous?!

  This is great news- hopefully the victims can gain some measure of credibility when others in the congregation see their cases being taken seriously.

  just one thing..can I print out articles posted here from reports and make them in to posters and put them up?I would'nt be breaking any copyright laws at all...? Thanks.

  i've been here 2 years and posted over a year trying to be supportive of everyone but some things are even too obvious for even me to not see.

  I don't want to live out my life with no friends at all so i'll choose the lesser of the evils

  The thing about friends is that they don't always have to be old ones- new ones are out there too; you just hav'nt met them yet..going back for the old friends can be tempting; but as has been said, they are conditional friends- the worst sort...I have been shut out of the life of all the 'friends' I had; they don't know the meaning of the word.

  Since leaving, apart from the old friends from pre-jw days; I have had to get off my butt and find them- it just takes a smile... then it all snowballs from there...why would noone want to be friends with you apart from jw's?

  We do

  and so do hundreds of other people out there- they just hav'nt met you yet...Iwent back to college and night classes, a gym; and friendship tends to snowball, friends of friends -

  have you seen Nicholas Nickelby?

  will you take your self off to the cinema and watch it ? for me? before you go back to the hall? that's the principle I tried and it works- my family is either dead or not speaking- I only have my brother...but I have so many friends to love and love me back...

  Recording Judicial Committee meetings........and having fun!

  the 'flock' book (elders manual) makes this quite clear and upon arriving at your judicial hearing one of the first questions you will be asked is whether you have any recording/transmitting equipment with you.. however, most jw's will have never seen - or even heard of - the 'flock' book.

  do a search on the wt cd on recording meetings and you will see that it all pertains to the recording of meetings at the kingdom hall and conventions and that any brother wishing to make such recordings is free to do so so long as the recording equipment is not attached to the society's equipment.

  the one question of propriety that is raised has to do with recording prayers.

  Nic; Those suggestions are great;especially the threat to sue the elders themselves.

  They may not realise that the WTBS will' allow' them to be sued individually-with little or no support... they may feel they have the protection of the organisation; but as in the child abuse cases- they can and may be sued seperately and held accountable for their actions...

  Simon; the idea of having equipment to loan out is a really good one...i'd donate to an 'equipment fund'.

  And I also like the idea of a judicial hearing 'buddy' to lend some moral support to those who have to face them alone, especially when it's a woman in a room full of men...

  I hope your suggestion of cult therapy is noted and acted upon- interesting idea...

  as for the above quote;

  When a parent's judgement concerning the welfare of their child is flawed the courts are there to create a reasonable viewpoint based on all the information available to them- not based on the doctrine of an obscure sect. .

  I know the WTBS feels that they are above the law as 'god's' representitives- but if they really do want to be part of that 'relgious community' they seem so keen to associate with when it suits them to appear mainstream...they're going to have to do a little more doctrine tweaking.

  brown paper on the mirrors at assembly

  this happened in the mid 80's at a circuit assembly in wisconsin.

  the "brothers" decided they had the solution to the long lines for the ladies room.

  they went in there and covered the mirrors with brown paper.

  Ravynthat beggar's belief!

  We had tight lipped attendants physically 'directing' us to the cubicle; also had the smart 'rap' on the door if we stayed in the cubicle for too long- and told not to flush unlss absolutely necessary -gross..... we also had 'hurry up' shouted at us- and were told to 'come on' by the toilet police.My kids thought they were so rude.

  Those were the days.
